SCAR Squad: Renay

Here at Second Chance Animal Rescue Windsor-Essex, we value our volunteers and all of their hard work and dedication.  It takes special people to help special animals in need.  We would like to recognize all of this hard work by profiling these wonderful people and letting the world know how proud we are that they’ve chosen to volunteer for such a noble cause with Second Chance Animal Rescue Windsor-Essex.

Volunteer Spotlight

RENAY

Renay started volunteering and fostering with Second Chance Animal Rescue in 2016.  She wanted to be able to help dogs during their transition from rescue to their furever home by providing a warm, loving home for them.  Renay’s first foster, Tanner, was with her for nearly a year, which was a difficult goodbye for both of them, but it enabled Renay to accept another dog in need into her home.  Renay enjoys fostering because she gets to see the improvement that the dogs make over time, it’s a slow process, but worth every minute!  Renay is also a part of SCAR’s Fundraising Committee which meets several times a year to organize adoption events and special fundraisers, such as our 50’s Themed Pasta Dinner in 2018 which Renay was instrumental in organizing as an event that raised money for animals in SCAR’s foster program.  Renay likes being a part of Second Chance Animal Rescue Windsor-Essex because she feels they have the best volunteers and always feels welcome and a part of a team.  She encourages others to join the team, “you will not regret the decision”.  SCAR is only as good as its volunteers, and we have one the best of them in Renay!
