SCAR Squad: Eryn and Tom

Here at Second Chance Animal Rescue Windsor-Essex, we value our volunteers and all of their hard work and dedication.  It takes special people to help special animals in need.  We would like to recognize all of this hard work by profiling these wonderful people and letting the world know how proud we are that they’ve chosen to volunteer for such a noble cause with Second Chance Animal Rescue Windsor-Essex.

Volunteer Spotlight

Eryn and Tom

For our inaugural profile, we would like to introduce Eryn and Tom.  They joined SCAR in the beginning of 2016 and soon distinguished themselves as star fosters and volunteers for the rescue.  They have opened their home to countless foster dogs and gave them the loving care they needed before they moved on to their furever families.  Eryn and Tom have even become the furever family to two of their fosters, proving that they were the right home all along.  They are caring for a palliative care dog, John Boy, who was given a terminal diagnosis while in foster care, and Eryn and Tom did not hesitate to step up to provide a loving home for John Boy for the time he has left, which will not be an easy road.  While their first priority is fostering, helping to save the lives of dogs that might otherwise perish in high-kill shelters (or come as owner-surrendered animals), they’ve also supported the rescue in countless ways, by transporting animals and volunteers, attending nearly every single event, picking up donations and providing donations of their own.  For the past two years (and hopefully many years to come), Eryn and Tom have become completely indispensable to our rescue and we really couldn’t rescue so many dogs without them.
