Hi, I’m Oliver, or Ollie for short! I am a happy, fun-loving little dude ready for an awesome family to call my own. I love, love, love human interaction and walking around the neighbourhood checking out all the great scents.
I am a good boy and like to listen when my humans are talking to me. I am happy to play by myself, with my humans, or with other dog-friends. I haven’t been around cats or young children yet, so I’m not sure how I will feel about them. As a puppy, I’m still learning not to play so rough when I get really excited. I am house-trained and crate-trained and like to sleep in my crate overnight.
I like to chase birds and sometimes bark to let them know I’m here to protect my people. But, if my humans ask me to do something, I’m ready to please. I can sit and come when called and love to go for rides in the car no matter where you’re headed, especially if you’re going camping. As long as I can be beside my favourite humans, I am ready for anything.
My perfect family will be ready for lots of energy and exercise, and my undivided attention. After an active day, I love to snuggle and receive pets while we relax. If you’re looking for a happy, friendly puppy, let’s get to know each other.
Medical note: Oliver was treated for Lyme disease. Lyme is a tick borne disease so he will need to be kept on tick preventives for life and he should also have regular yearly urine tests done to check his protein levels. Potential adopters should familiarize themselves with symptoms of Lyme exposure in dogs and what to watch for if Oliver were to become symptomatic. At this time, we don’t expect any ill effects from this as long as he is kept on preventives and has yearly urine checks.
All dogs available for adoption with Second Chance Animal Rescue Windsor-Essex come fully vaccinated, including lepto, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (and are on heartworm/flea preventative while in our care). At adoption, adopters receive a 6-week free trial of pet insurance.
SCAR does not have the resources to adopt animals to the United States and we can only adopt within a 200 km radius of Windsor, Ontario. Please do not apply if you do not live in Ontario, within 200 kms of Windsor.
