Pup-sonality:
Hi, I’m Nellie, and I’ve been told that I’m the cutest girl in town – wouldn’t you agree?  I am a bouncy, people-loving dog ready to snuggle you all day long.

I am crate-trained and do well in a gated area when I have to be left alone, but I can get anxious when my humans are not around, so a family that is home most of the time would suit me best.  I have chewed a couple of things, but I am still learning to be a good girl.  I am house-trained, but accidents may occur in a new environment.  Did I say I was bouncy?  I can jump really high and sometimes I end up on kitchen counters or tables, but how else is a small dog like me supposed to see what’s going on?

I know my basic commands like “sit” or “down” and walk really well on my leash.  I might be nervous and bark when meeting a new human, but some encouragement, and of course treats, helps me know that they are trustworthy and not going to harm me.  I don’t mind car rides, as long as I know I’m secure, it’s all good.  I have not interacted with cats or children, so I’m not sure how I will react to either of those.  I don’t really like other dogs a whole lot, so my forever home should be all about me.  I can tolerate female dogs, but male dogs really make my fur rise.

If you have an open space, I will happily be your forever companion. We can snuggle every day and go for walks to see and smell new great things.  I am ready when you are!

Medical Note: Nellie was given Pro Heart 12 on March 20, 2023 (this medication protects against heartworm disease for 12 months) and therefore only requires Nexguard each month for flea/tick prevention until February 2024. She is currently receiving Nexguard monthly. For March 2024, she will require a new prescription of Nexguard and Heartguard or Advantage Multi for year-round ongoing preventative treatment.
