My name is Mocha and I may be more cat than dog. While I really enjoy spending time with my humans and getting scritches, I do also like my own space and doing my own thing. I don’t really bark or make a lot of noise, so I would be a good addition for a family with close neighbours.

I am crate-trained and house-trained and will hang out in my crate when I want some alone time. I don’t really play with toys so I often look to my humans for attention, but I can sit, stay, and come when called. When it comes to meeting new people, I prefer to check them out at my own pace and come to them when I’m ready. I am not a fan of a lot of noise or grabbing hands.

I enjoy sunning myself outside in the grass or going for car rides close to home. I like going for walks, but not too far at once, I’m more of a fan of frequent quick walks. My ideal family would be home most of the time with a really quiet household. I just like to chill with my family and am ready to make a great companion to someone special.

Medical note: Mocha was treated for heartworm before arriving in Canada and must be on heartworm prevention medication with Ivermectin in it such as Heartguard or Advantage Multi for the rest of her life to avoid recurrence. When she arrived in Canada, she was experiencing some side effects from her heartworm treatment, but after xrays and medical treatment, she was cleared by our veterinarian and as long as she remains on her preventative and is fed a high quality diet with moderate exercise, we do not expect any health issues to arise from this. Mocha may need to see a cardiologist in the future (or may not if no issues arise), but at this time, there are no issues of concern regarding her heart.
