Hello there. Marty’s my name. I’m a gentle young man, a quick study, with a calm, loving personality and a respectful nature. I’m still learning to trust people, so I find myself much happier when I’m in the company of the people with whom I live. I’m sometimes a little scared when out walking, but I am not at all aggressive and this does not prevent me from walking very well on leash. I do love all dogs, no matter how big or small. I love being out and about around the town. Just open that car door, in I’ll jump, happy as a dog with a bone! Did I mention that bones are on my list of favourite things? Or that I’m a class A high jumper? Baby gates are no match for me!

My foster mom is teaching me all kinds of lessons such as sit and recall. I love my food and she is very good about offering me treats. I must say that really helps me to learn quicker! Another thing I’m working on with her help is where to do my business. I’m trying very hard to get it right, but I’m not perfect yet, and I do sometimes have accidents. I am happy to be in my den that humans call a crate and my foster mom does leave me there for about an hour or so, but not too often. I love that she is mostly home with me, because it gives us lots of time to do some of my favourite things like snuggling and being held, hugged and kissed, being groomed and even having lots of silly playtime with the dog who lives with us. I’m very curious about cats, but I’m somehow not convinced the resident cats enjoy my attention. And I haven’t met any children yet, so I couldn’t tell you how I feel about them. In fact, I don’t say very much at all. I don’t bark much; I like to think of myself as the strong silent type. It does take me a while (maybe a day or two) to warm up to new humans, but once I’m sure I can trust them, they will find out just how sweet and cuddly I can be.

Do you have a home with a nice patch of grass where I can sniff to my heart’s content? Would it perhaps have another playful dog for me to have some fun times with? If so, you could be the perfect new family for me!
