Hello, my name is Kilo and I’m excited to say that I’m ready to find my forever family! I am a few years old but I am still learning like a puppy and have so much love to give.
I tend to get excited easily, so a nice, quiet home would be the best one for me. Kids playing excitedly or other dogs barking turns on my bark-o-meter. Other than some direct stimuli, I am pretty chill the rest of the time. I loved to be hugged and snuggled, and enjoy a good brushing. Have you noticed my glorious coat? I like to look my best!
I like my crate, although I’m rarely in there for very long, and I am house-trained but may have a few accidents, especially in a new environment for the first time. I will guard my food from other animals, so it would be best to feed us separately in different rooms or crates. What can I say? I just want to make sure no one takes that precious food away from me. I have not been around cats, but let’s face it, I’m likely to bark at them a lot and stress them out.
I love a good car ride and am ready to be your travelling buddy. I will follow you anywhere. I’m a great house alarm too, no need for one of those fancy doorbells. I know how to sit and come when called, and I know I could learn more if you have the patience to teach me. There’s so much I still want to know!

Medical Note: Kilo was given Pro Heart 12 on August 26, 2023 (this medication protects against heartworm disease for 12 months) and therefore only requires Nexguard each month for flea/tick prevention until July 2024. He is currently receiving Nexguard monthly. For August 2024, he will require a new prescription of Nexguard and Heartguard or Advantage Multi for year-round ongoing preventative treatment.

All dogs available for adoption with Second Chance Animal Rescue Windsor-Essex come fully vaccinated, including lepto, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (and are on heartworm/flea preventative while in our care). At adoption, adopters receive a 6-week free trial of pet insurance.
SCAR cannot adopt animals to the United States and we can only adopt within a 200 km radius of Windsor, Ontario. Please do not apply if you do not live in Ontario, within 200 kms of Windsor.
