Meow? We are Dulce & Caliente and we would like to introduce ourselves! We are a mischievous pair of kittens looking for somewhere to play and cuddle.
We were found in poor shape near an apartment building crying for something to eat and some nice people picked us up and gave us a warm place to stay. Now, we are staying with a really kind human who is giving us the space we need to grow and play and snuggle all day long, with full bellies of yummy food.
We are already litter-trained and love to play with toys and each other, a good wrestle match every now and again keeps us fit. We have these things called claws that sometimes get us into trouble, but some well-placed scratching pads should give us plenty of activities for exercising these claws. We might be shy at first when we meet new people, but once we warm up to you, we are ready for a good snuggle.
We would love to find a home together but we think we could warm up to a new feline friend if the conditions were right. If you’re looking for a furry little party, check us out!
Medical Note: Dulce & Caliente have tested as Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) positive. They were most likely infected via their mother’s milk and will be re-tested by SCAR’s vet at 6-8 months to confirm whether the antibodies are still present. In order to avoid the spread of this virus to other cats (note that it cannot be spread to dogs, humans, or other animals), they must stay indoors and not interact with other non-infected cats. It is an autoimmune disorder that makes them susceptible to other infections but they can live long, healthy lives with watchful care.
Please note that it is always important to test any cats or kittens rescued from unknown sources and to ask any vet or shelter if your cat/kitten has been tested for FeLV or other bacterial/viral infections.
All cats available for adoption with Second Chance Animal Rescue Windsor-Essex come fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. At adoption, adopters receive a 6-week free trial of pet insurance.
SCAR does not have the resources to adopt animals to the United States and we can only adopt within a 200 km radius of Windsor, Ontario. Please do not apply if you do not live in Ontario, within 200 kms of Windsor.
